[the video times in--Edgeworth is laying in his bed and he looks frightfully pale. The communicator seems to be sitting on his bedside table, and he doesn't know it's on.]

I should have--[cough]--know something of this nature would happen. On the week of my birthday, nonetheless.

[Edgeworth's breathing becomes a little more rough and very labored and he seems to be in pain when he coughs. He throws the blankets and sheets off him at some point (he's, luckily, dressed in boxers and a wrinkled, white collared shirt) and attempts to wipe the sweat from his brow with a hand.

After a while, he covers himself with the sheets again and tries to sleep. The feed times out shortly after.]

[The video feed clicks on to the view of Edgeworth's arm. He's busy writing and appears to be in the lawyers' office with the communicator sitting innocently next to him. He accidentally bumps it again and the view changes to show a much, much more tidy workspace--someone did some cleaning.

The only thing that seems to be out of the ordinary is a very bright Halloween mask sitting atop the stack of books on the desk. The prosecutor doesn't seem to be aware that the feed is running for another minute until he happens to look up, scowl, and switch the feed to audio. If anyone's quick enough to catch his expression, they may or may not notice how pale he is.]

It was rather... nice of the scientists to leave these trivial things for us, but considering the--[He pauses to cough. Several times.]--overall circumstances, it's almost an insult.

[Locked to the Police Force/Lawyers:]

I spoke to Wright and Naruse on this matter, but I will address it here: It would be wise of the law enforcement of the city to obtain records of the lawful establishment personnel; that is, the police force, lawyers and the various neighborhood watch groups.

[Edgeworth takes a breath here, as though speaking so much makes his air supply a bit labored. He coughs again before continuing.]

I suggested gathering this information via communicator post responses so that we might copy down the information and keep it on file.

What are your thoughts or concerns?

[There seems to be a bit of scuffling which stops soon after the feed cuts on. This is followed by the sound of a heavy, metal briefcase hitting the ground and falling onto its flat side, much to the dismay of its owner.]

I can only hope my stay here will be as short lived as it was previously.
